What does the Fractionated 1540 Treatment do?

The Fractionated Laser resurfacing treatment effectively improves sun damaged skin to include tone and texture. In addition, fractionated laser reduces wrinkles, fine lines, and improves appearance of acne scars and surgical scars. The Fractionated Laser targets both the surface and the deeper layers of the skin for a smoother, fresher, younger looking appearance. It’s an excellent treatment for face, neck, chest, eyes, arms, legs and back.

How does Fractionated 1540 Laser Treatment Work?

The Fractionated 1540 utilizes fractional resurfacing technology, where only a small fraction of the skin receives the laser light. Thousands of tiny but deep columns of laser energy are produced. This eliminates surface pigment and penetrates deep into the skin, intensively restoring the skin. Around the microscopic treatment zones, the surrounding tissue is unaffected and intact. This allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once, using the body’s natural healing process to create new, healthy tissue. The fractionated laser also stimulates collagen production in the skin which rejuvenates the skin from the inside, smoothing the appearance of wrinkles and scars.

When is the best time to get Fractionated 1540 Laser treatments done?

This treatment will make your skin more UV-light sensitive. Ideally these treatments are best performed October-June, avoiding mid-summer months. We ask our patients to please wear ELTA MD SPF, reapplying every two hours when outside, and protect yourself with hats to keep your skin safe from sun damage and skin cancers

What is the downtime like?

After you Fractionated 1540 Laser treatment, you can expect your skin to be pink and slightly puffy as if you had a moderate sun burn. Patients are instructed to ice the treated area and avoid strenuous activities for 2-3 day post treatment. Redness and swelling will resolve over the course of 3-7 days with your skin feeling rejuvenated 1-2 weeks post treatment.
