5 Things to Know about Dysport

by | Nov 8, 2021 | Dysport

Dysport refers to an injectable and muscle-relaxing treatment that’s a great alternative to Botox. Dysport injections are used to treat the expression lines on your face, and they help prevent and treat face muscles from contracting.

Dysport before and after will show a smooth appearance of frown lines without necessarily changing your look or moving the rest of your face.

  1. Dysport and Botox are entirely different

You may think that Dysport is Botox, but it’s not. They use different types of neurotoxins to block muscle contractions. Both injections are however used to treat spasms from medical conditions, neurological disorders, and cosmetic purposes.

However, the only similarity is that they both use botulinum toxins, which are safe when used in small amounts.

Now, while Botox and Dysport are both nonsurgical solutions to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, they are different treatments. The main difference is in the potency of trace proteins, which makes one more effective than the other.

  1. Dysport Injections are cheaper

It may seem that both Botox and Dysport offer the same effects, but when it comes to the Dysport cost, it is less expensive when compared to Botox.

The Dysport Treatments are 10% less costly on average, and a typical Dysport cost of injection is between $300 and $400.

Dysport contains a smaller amount of botulinum toxin, which means you will need an increased amount of Dysport injections to achieve the desired results.

  1. Dysport treatment takes just a few minutes

Dysport injections are pretty quick, which is another reason why most people prefer them to Botox. The procedure will be over fast, and since the injections are made on your facial muscles, you may be worried about going back to work, but with Dysport, you can get the procedure done and rush right back to the office immediately.

  1. Dysport results are not immediate

Both Dysport and Botox are used to reduce wrinkling on the forehead and the results should typically be visible in a few days.

Now, unlike other nonsurgical treatments, with Dysport, you will be able to see the results in just a few days, and the treatment doesn’t feature a lengthy recovery period.

This is because Dysport is not as strong as Botox, and the effects are less intense. In fact, in most cases, Dysport’s side effects are minimal and less invasive.

However, it is essential to understand that each patient is different, and both the treatment options and the side effects will vary with the patient.

  1. Dysport Side Effects are Minimal

Dysport Injections are usually associated with minimal complications and side effects which include the following:

  • Reaction to the injection site
  • Pain at the side of injection.
  • Eyelid swelling.
  • Headache.
  • Nausea.
  • Sinus inflammation.
  • Throat and nose irritation.
  • An upper respiratory tract infection.
